TOUGH TIMES CALL FOR SOFT PEOPLE

Tough times call for soft people, controversial I know but take it like this. There are times in life when you are beaten from every side and all you try to do doesn’t work out, you feel like you’re alone and no one can understand. Things are tough, times are moving fast and problems are just getting thicker. In such circumstances we are lost and unsure of our direction. But the word of God tells us “come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest”. The bible offers many versus as such that show us in times of despair and desperation we should turn to God.
Now if during tough times we should earnestly rely on God, how can we do that? Well the word of God tells us that we should be like little children. But children are weak and fragile? Yes I know they are, and because they are helpless that’s what makes them have so much trust and faith in their parents. God wants us to be the same, He wants us to be broken before him, vulnerable and helpless to Him. He wants to be our lifeline. He wants when things get tough we look to Him and see our refuge, He is our way out.

For Him to be strong we have to be weak, for Him to be big we have to be small and for Him to save we have to be in need. So for us to be out of these tough times we have to believe, believe that only God can save us and thus it requires to be in complete surrender and submission to God’s will. We, therefore, have to be soft before God for Him to get us through hard times……

SOUL DEATHBED

What if you were to die today? What would you say? What would you do? What would you want people to say? What would you want them to do? As they stand around that rectangular 6 feet hole, as they sing about the sweet by and by, what would you want their memory be?
When we leave this world (and notice I say when coz we’ll all die), we won’t be able to take away anything but our memories. We’ve lived with so many things, done so many things and eventually we’ll only leave with a memory of them.
So many of us live fake lives, we become people who are not us. We don’t maximize our lives, we spend so much time trying to cover up our flaws and erase or ignore our mistakes that we end up doing worse, we end up making the biggest mistake of our life, and we end up not being true to ourselves. We don’t confront us, we run, and try to escape. We put on facades and pretend that life is hockey dory and yet while our bodies’ alive, our souls are dead. We need to be true to ourselves before it’s too late, before the sand ends in the hour glass, our clocks stop ticking and our sun goes down…
Live the life you deserve, live the life you’ve always wanted. Free yourself from things tying you down, things holding you back, you’re holding you back and no one else can live this life for you. Start taking responsibility, start making your own decisions without being influenced, stand your ground and always champion the truth (only you know the truth and for sure it shall set you free). So stop selling yourself short and stop deceiving others. Not everybody’s ready for the truth but we sure as hell need it. There is no better time, there’s only now.
Don’t let your soul be on the deathbed long before your body succumbs…

A moment of silence

There are these moments in life, moments of silence. And no I’m not talking about the kind for paying respect to the dead, I’m talking about the kind where heaven is still. The kind where everything around is loud and clear except for heaven. While the earth is busy bustling around noisily, in your soul there’s stillness, and not that cool waters stillness, there stillness where you can’t hear anything.
You wait and wait and wait some more for a sound or even the faintest of a whisper. And yet still there’s silence. Some of us may take it that God has shut down on us and that He’s somehow rejecting to hear us or refusing to hid our pleas. We get discouraged and depressed, we reach an all-time low, we find ourselves yearning for someone to notice us, we cry for attention.
But while we are busy noticing heavens silence and deafening the world with our desperate cry for attention we fail to use our other senses. while we are busy screaming how God is silent we fail to see how He’s busy at work around us, we fail to smell the sweet aromatic incense of our prayers, we fail to taste how sweet the Lord is, we fail to touch His unending grace and mercy and we fail to walk in His peace.
Personally I’ve had God go quiet on me one too many times but I don’t linger on in those moments of loneliness, I live for the days when I feel Him in a passing breeze, see Him in the beauty of a rose, hear Him in the laughter of children, feel Him in my mother’s loving embrace and walk in His divine favor. I don’t dwell on which sense of my body do I not see evidence of God’s existence but I choose to concentrate on the ones His presence is over powering.
Dear friends look for God and not just in familiar territory; look for where He is speaking which is pretty much in everything and everywhere. Launch out into the deep…..

HEART BREAKS IN BUCKETS OF SUNSHINE

How did I get here? Since when did my life become a string of tragic emotional events (though dramatic and somehow interesting)? No one ever prepared me for how much life would hurt. My parents did an awesome job of raising me and ensuring I was safe but they just couldn’t protect me from the monster…HEARTACHE….
In this life we plan our firsts, our first day of school, our first achievement, our first car, our first house, our first job, our first date and all those rosy, sunny buckets full of sunshine. But we never plan our first break ups, our first betrayals, our first rejection or our first failure. These are things that we have to face eventually with no experience if I must say. But like they say, life happens. All these experiences, the good, the bad, the not so good but not so bad, all these raggedy emotions make up what we call the circle of life or is it cycle of life ;-)
When we get to that point in life and we start experiencing all these negative things that were not in our life plan, we panic and we tend to think that just because they are strong they’ll last forever. No they don’t have to, they may take some time to get over them but “this too shall pass”. Eventually life moves on, time passes and seasons change. Life happens and it will continue to happen every single day until you tell the world good ridden. So what do we do about all these unplanned setbacks? Well I’ll give you an answer, we EXPERIENCE them. Yes I said experience them. Let’s live in the moment, in that hair rising, blood draining, and heart aching moment. Let’s experience it until it ceases to be scary. Let’s live through those tragic moments, charge into them like a bull after a matador in the ring.
Once you do that then you’ll really have lived and you’ll have made the best of every experience. Don’t fight them, coz they are strong. Don’t hide away from them, coz they’ll never go away. And don’t run away from them, coz they’ll catch up and eventually over take you. Just stand still, take a deep breathe, close your eyes and live it. Then when you open your eyes you’ll realize just how small a pebble they are compared to your bucket full of sunshine….

Blissfully alone

Loneliness, loneliness, loneliness. I hate loneliness. It takes such a toll on me. Why am I so afraid of being alone? Maybe its coz I’m always around great company? Or maybe I just can’t stand to be by myself? Then isn’t that a problem, shouldn’t I be happy to be with myself before anyone else is happy to be with me? I guess I’ve just never learned to be by myself. This is a pandemic I’ve noticed with many of my peers. It’s a rare thing to meet someone my age sitting in a restaurant alone without any form of gadget or technological interruption.  Even at home, they are never in solitude, there’s always the TV or radio or phone or just something that destructs them with the vain idea of “company”.
Maybe this could be one of the reasons why so many people are social misfits and addicts? Maybe this is why so many relationships end up in chaos? Maybe it’s because so many people are too focused on not being alone that they forget to develop themselves…
I think it’s time for us to be lonely, time for us to shut down our phones, TVs,  radio and yes even real friends. Time for us to be comfortable with ourselves, know who we are, enjoy our own company before we can allow someone else the luxury of having to put up with someone we ourselves don’t want to put up with (me). It’s time for us to stand up and be alone with ourselves, seek the company we long for from within us then we can go ahead and share our blissful company with other people who know what it means to be alone with themselves….
So today I want to make a proposition, a proposition that will go ahead and reveal to you who you really are, what you’ve been hiding from yourself and why you’ve never liked to spend time with yourself. Let’s dig in deeper and get to know ourselves before things get serious (let’s take things slow). Purpose to have a date session with yourself for at least ten minutes daily. Be sure to block out all distractions and just spend some quite time with yourself.  Fall in love with yourself, go for long walks, spend a quiet night at home, and talk to yourself regularly. And soon you’ll begin to discover that you’re the best company you ever had…
