DOWN IN THE DUMPSTER...



So life has been kinda crappy of late. For one all my technological gadgets decide it’s time to try out the new trend…system-suicide… So slowly I’ve been caught up nursing their intricate wounds which means a lot of expenses and having to put up with substandard versions of technology. All in all it’s been really challenging considering that my whole day revolves around use of technology (I’m an IT student just to clarify my neediness for functioning gadgets). So a let down from any one of my gadgets means a redundancy in my work and ultimately life. It’s not been easy coping with gadgets battling terminal computer cancer and other dreadful diseases like machine-type-of-Ebola… But through this experience I’ve come to learn in all our daily endeavors and rendezvous of our work, a lot of things can go wrong, electronics can crash, proposals can be turned down, employees can quit and even money needed urgently can be held up or even denied. All these things can tear us apart depending on our level of involvement and such an inconsistent batch of events is enough to transpose anyone into ultimate fear.  But one thing I’ve drawn from my series of unfortunate events is that, while all can fail and things or people we trust can change and eventually end up disappointing us, one factor remains constant….GOD… God never changes He is always there, He never fails, He never runs out of ideas, His funds bank is overflowing and He’s never short of people to help. If you can trust a never changing God for your ever changing circumstances then you’ll receive never ending life.  Life can be cruel and hard and sometimes even unfair, it hurts to give it your all and end up worse than you started but it definitely pays to give God your all because He is constant. God never disappoints and just like the good book says “He meets us at the point of our needs”. Just when things get worse and all hope is lost, watch and wait and you will see Him showing up. So cheer up, don’t be down in the dumpster about things or events that didn’t work out well instead focus on God who makes it all happen. And remember “God is not man to lie, neither a son of man to change his mind, whatever He has promised shall surely come to pass…”

HOW TO DISCOVER WHAT IS TRUE



We all have to stand for something. Its better you be passionate about something so strongly that people think you’re insane rather than to be swayed by the crowd or have others dictate what you should or shouldn’t believe in. It’s better to stand up for something that might turn out to be wrong, at least you believed in something that was your own, and though wrong you will learn eventually. But if you stand for nothing, you will never know what’s true and what’s not. We all need lines to define our boundaries and standards to define who we are. I’m not saying that at times we won’t waver, saunter or fall but eventually you get up and draw other lines that define you better. In the end we are shaped and governed by what we believe in. So stand up and believe in something that’s your own coz that’s what determines who you are and how others take you. Wake up and draw some lines, set up some boundaries, speak up for what is right, and if you get it wrong well go on and set up some new ones until eventually the right is clearly mapped out….

Dont you hate haters!


Have you ever been criticized? Jabbed in the heart by a heartless moron who has no idea what they’re doing but freely dishes out the little ignorance he has occupying his massively empty brain? Yes that’s what I think critics are. They give out “pieces of their mind” until they are left with none. I know people say haters make you stronger but I strongly disagree. Haters make you weaker. They make you listen to trash about you and that soon goes into your head and you tend to think about it. Now if I remember correctly the good book says “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.” Now which category does the “haters” judgments fall under?
Frankly I think we should not think about anything a negative person with no intention of seeing you develop or progress has to say. Don’t get me wrong, there is a difference between correction and criticism. Criticism according to the dictionary is “the expression of disapproval of someone or something based on perceived faults or mistakes” while correction is “a change that rectifies an error or inaccuracy.” Therefore, I don’t think we should tolerate criticism, listening to people who point out your limitations instead of seeing your possibilities are not worth your ears.
Choose what to hear and who to hear it from. A lot of critics have brought us down, told us we can’t and we won’t but choose to hear from correctors who tell you why you can and how to do it. Criticism stops at the problem, correction follows through to the solution.
To live a happy progressive life, deafen the critics and turn up the correctors…. Be with those who want to see you happy then you’ll eventually be happy with those who are happy for you….

REMEMBER ANYONE WHO IS TRYING TO BRING YOU DOWN IS ALREADY UNDER YOU….

WHY THE GRASS IS GREENER....


Now I know it’s been quite a while since I last blogged, well a month to be precise. But all in all it feels good to be back. During this period of much needed silence I was undergoing some pretty dramatic changes (and I seriously mean dramatic), but through it all I’ve learnt and that’s the most important thing.
Life is not smooth (I’ll tell u for free I learnt that the hard way). There will be ups and downs. Especially when you’re a routine person like me, life gets more and more interesting. I love how God plays with my predictability by shaking things up (and best believe it when He shakes things, it’s a marsh up of a tornado and earthquake). Regardless I’ve learnt to be eternally grateful for the roughing ups that happen in my life.
Now that we’ve established a little drama is good for the soul, where does the problem lie? The problem comes about when we go against the current. No change is easy, especially if it comes unexpected. And just like our body immune system, when something foreign enters us we usually try to resist. As much as this works great for the outer man, I’m afraid it doesn’t fare well with our inner man. Change is meant to result in progress, either way whether you resist it or not, change MUST happen. The best thing we can do for ourselves is give in, give in to its strong and gushing waves and when the tide dies down and the waters are calm you just might find yourself at the shores of greatness.
I’m all about taking chances, the worst thing that can happen is probably not as bad as if you didn’t try it out and hey the saying “the grass is greener on the other side” didn’t event itself, there has to be some truth in it. And maybe just maybe the grass is greener on the other side of change. Don’t fight just give in to it.

THE DARE


Run your own race, live your own life. Take time to know what you want and go for it. Do what you love and love what you do. Fight for the things that make you happy and treasure the things that keep you at peace. Be with the ones you love and appreciate the ones who love you back. Smile with your heart and not just with your mouth. See with your mind and not just with your eyes. Here the sound in silence and take time to be alone. Learn the art of patience and not just waiting. Enjoy being busy but never forget to make time. Enjoy your comforts but also dare to dream. Dare to live and dare to love….
